Langberg Springs with a spectacular view over the Vrede farm-lands and Witkoppen mountain range, is secluded in the Langberg mountains overlooking its four trout dams in a deep kloof. Langberg Springs is approximately 200km from Gauteng.

ACCOMMODATION: Two self-catering thatched cabins accommodate 6 persons each are situated on the mountain with breathtaking views and walking distance from trout dams, wooded ravines and mountain streams. Each cabin has two bedrooms with en suite bath rooms. Bedding is provided. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped, with a two-plate stove, gas-burner, gas refrigerator and all cooking utensils. No electricity – lighting is provided in the form of candles and lanterns. The cosy lounge with a fire-place is the place to be on winter nights. Braai area outside.

Kommandonek Game Reserve is situated 15 km from Parys in the Vredefort Dome and 1.5 hours drive from Jhb. This is a private wild life sanctuary edged by the Vaal River travelling through a range of scenic mountains. These mountains were created by a meteorite the size of Table Mountain which impacted the earth two billion years ago. This reserve is situated in the centre of this 80 km wide meteor basin and supports a wildlife conservancy which includes 150 different types of birds and game. This stylish, luxurious lodge is nestled at the foot of a mountain and 200m from the Vaal River and accommodates 46 people in comfort.
